Philip Glass composed his Violin Concerto No. 2, “The Four Seasons,” for Robert McDuffie, who performs the work at these concerts. Dinner at ONE. midtown kitchen followed by an All-Brahms Program to close out the season: $50 per person

June 9th, 11th, & 12th, 2016
Reservation time: 5:30, 6:00 pm
Concert begins at 8 pm on Thursday and Saturday, 3 pm on Sunday at Atlanta Symphony Hall

Both the Brahms Second Piano Concerto and Symphony stand in sharp contrast to their immediate predecessors. One of Brahms’s friends characterized the Second Piano Concerto, composed twenty years after the First, as “that of a grown man to the youth.” And the Second Symphony is a charming, lyrical work capped by one of Brahms’ most carefree and exuberant finales, the perfect culmination of a magnificent season.
